Audio Technica AT-LP140XP
First impression
Wow, the product looks amazing! It arrived well-packaged with all the accessories neatly organized. The build quality is solid and impressive. Having used it for over a year now, I can confidently say it’s a fantastic piece of equipment, especially considering the price point.
The sleek silver finish and the black case make it not only functional but also a stylish addition to any setup. The adjustable feet with soft padding not only contribute to its stability but also make it a versatile piece that can easily complement your decor.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for quality at an affordable price.
What is in the box
As soon as you open the box, you’re in for a pleasant surprise – everything you need is neatly packed in. The turntable comes with an Audio-Technica cartridge, platter, tonearm, arm weight, dust cover, RCA audio cable with gilded connectors and a ground cable, as well as a power cable and an 8” record adapter. It’s an all-in-one solution that sets you up for DJ-ing right out of the box or simply enjoying your favorite music. However, one drawback to note is the absence of a preamp, which is the only feature I find myself missing.
Dust cover
The turntable includes a transparent dust cover with detachable hinges, allowing you the flexibility to either lift the cover up or completely remove it. This thoughtful design not only enhances the overall aesthetic of the turntable but also serves a functional purpose by protecting delicate parts from damage when the turntable is not in use. It’s worth noting that many high-end brands lack hinges, resulting in a dust cover that simply rests on top of the turntable, which may not be as practical in everyday use.
Speed
The turntable boasts three selectable speeds—33, 45, and 78 RPM—providing versatility for playing different types of records. Additionally, the inclusion of lock buttons allows for an instant return to the original record speed. The fader on this turntable is notable for its smooth and precise operation, offering speed adjustments with extensions of 8%, 16%, and 24%, adding a layer of control to enhance your listening experience.
Sound
The clean and warm sound of the turntable is attributed to the high-quality Audio-Technica cartridge and tonearm. The tonearm, featuring adjustable height, provides an added dimension to your audio experience, allowing you to customize the angle for optimal playback.

Platter
The platter exhibits impressive solidity, featuring a rubber bottom layer designed for excellent vibration absorption. Notably, it includes a visual indicator, offering a clear display of the current speed for enhanced user convenience.
High-torque motor
At the core of this turntable lies a powerful heart—a high-torque direct-drive motor. Its responsiveness is further highlighted by a reverse rotation function, adding versatility to your DJing experience.
Anti-skating
The anti-skating is spot-on, performing exactly as intended. Once you set the tonearm in the perfect position, it reliably holds, ensuring a stable and precise performance.
Lighting
A blue pop-up light is incorporated to indicate the needle’s position, providing a functional touch, albeit a subtle one. The strobe light, working in tandem with the platter, accurately reflects the current speed. The electric blue hue of all lights not only serves a practical purpose but also contributes to a modern and sleek aesthetic.
Final thoughts
It is a solid, very well built turntable and i think it is worth much more than its price.
